The organisation as a Learning Organisation

The role of the individual in organisations is now changing. It is no longer enough for the individuals in an organisation to concentrate solely on technical skills. In today's competitive market, individuals must ensure that they have an awareness, which is demonstrated by client and customer satisfaction, of the needs of clients and customers. In order to ensure this, the individuals need to have business and management skills which they employ in the furtherance of serving clients and customers effectively.

Each programme is bespoke for your organisation and for your people - so whether there are individuals who need to perform differently to make the grade, or even for those who already are at the peak of their performance but who need the occasional assistance to review and revisit their skills, or cultural issues which need addressing, or support and technical staff not demonstrating an ability to work effectively, or other professionals who need to enhance their effectiveness at working with you, we can enable you to equip your staff with the skills to manage whatever their career, and your organisation, demands. We call our programmes:

Business Excellence

Referred to by some clients as 'a mini MBA'. This programme encompasses the level of skills needed by individuals in areas such as HR, Finance, IT and Operations, Marketing.

We are able to design our Business Excellence programme for small groups in-house. See below for the process we use in designing a bespoke programme for your organisation.

(We are also now able to offer it to individuals, who prefer to source their own learning programmes. For more detail, go to:    http://www.firmbeliefs.co.uk/resources.php)

The success of our management development programmes led LexisNexis Butterworths to ask us to design and deliver management training sessions for their law firm and corporate clients. The difference between what we do for our clients and for theirs? - LexisNexis are authorised to provide CPD points. We do not provide CPD points for our courses. If your firm has procurement criteria which requires you to use specific providers, and LexisNexis Butterworths is one of them, click on www.lexisnexis.co.uk/inhousetrainingforlawyers.

BUSINESS EXCELLENCE IN-HOUSE PROCESS

Step 1 - EVALUATING THE NEED

Our evaluation of the needs of your people starts with an appraisal of your organisation's strategic goals.

Step 2 - DESIGN

We then design a programme of skills development for your people which is aligned with your organisation's strategic goals. Each programme contains specific objectives for each individual on the programme to achieve. Measurements for evaluation of the objectives, and therefore of your investment in the programme, are discussed with you and built into the design of the programme.

Step 3 - DELIVERY

Our programmes are delivered in the most appropriate manner for your organisation. We decide, with you, what skills your managers need to have. We help them to develop those skills - whether by small group training programmes (which help them to develop others, for example), or with the addition of highly-focused 1:1 techniques which enable the managers to feel supported in their day-to-day activities as they develop their skills via the programmes. We come to your firm at times to suit you or we are happy to meet off site.

Step 4 - IMPLEMENTATION OF SKILLS DEVELOPED

Individuals are expected to implement their skills by reference to the objectives of their particular programme. We work with you to ensure that their objectives are appropriate to the strategic needs of your firm. We work with you to help support the implementation.

Step 5 - EVALUATION OF THE PROGRAMME

We ensure that follow-up of the programme is part of our relationship with you. This enables you to evaluate your investment (in time and money) in your people.
